I Want To Know What Love Is

Originally sung by Foreigner in the 1980s, the song is still as potent in Mariah’s version. The song is all about finding that someone that can remove loneliness from your life and show you what love really is.

Chaka Khan’s Sweetest Thing

I love Rufus and Chaka Khan. Their music is at one moment, seriously funky, and at another moment, sweet and romantic, and ‘Sweetest Thing’ is a funky ballad. In fact, if you know the song, you may think the lyrics are a bit dubious, being it about how Chaka Khan wishes someone to be her sweet thing despite the fact he’s not hers. Nonetheless, as it’s a favourite of mine, I had to include it.
