Top 10 Wedding First Dance Songs 2011 – Part 1/5

Wedding first dances are a very personal affair, and there can always be the pressure to go for the traditional, though there’s absolutely nothing wrong with going for the traditional.

The only advice I can give is, ‘go for what really means something to you’, whether the song triggers a memory of when you first met your loved one, or you fall in love with the lyrics of a particular song. Either way, I’ve listed 10 songs, in no particular order. These are suggestions and I’ve gone for first dance classics, obscure songs, and contemporary additions.

ALICIA KEYS – UNTHINKABLE

The first song I’m introducing in this series has to be one of the most beautiful love songs I’ve heard from the last year or so. Alicia Keys performs ‘Unthinkable,’ telling her lover that she’s ready when he asks her that penultimate, most likely to get married. So it’s fitting as a wonderful dance song.

JASON MRAZ – I’m YOURS

With a laid back rhythm, almost reggae in nature, Jason Mraz sings ‘I’m Yours’ to a special someone. You can imagine dancing into a silhouette at the center of a setting sun on the horizon. His lyrics, ‘I wont hesitate no more,’ encapsulates the commitment.
