Scott McCreery — Country Comfort

Last week the Amer­i­can Idol con­tes­tants sung to Elton John hits. And con­sid­er­ing this is a soul blog, it may appear strange to men­tion that my sec­ond favourite per­for­mance fea­tured a touch of coun­try. In fact, the per­for­mance was “Coun­try Com­fort” by Scott McCreery. But my, he has one of those voices that stop you in your tracks.

Oppo­site to soul diva Jacob Lusk, Scott McCreery prefers to sing with an unbe­liev­ably deep voice when you take account of his age (17 years-old). I think it’s great Amer­i­can Idol now has some coun­try on it again. I know he’ll have plenty of sup­port. Here’s a video of his performance.
